The toads move from the woods to the pond just south of The Street. There are folding toad signs that we open on nights when the toads are moving.

Toads are crossing Sweet Briar Lane between Green Farm and for roughly 500m of the lane up towards Dog Corner.
Great Massingham has five main road-side ponds. Patrols cover Weasenham Road where rush hour is busy, with through traffic coming in from all directions at speed.

The toads come from all directions to the pond near the bus stop. We operate a rota system and aim to have 2 patrollers out for a shift of no longer than 2 hours.
We used to help over a thousand toads to reach the pond on Green Lane but numbers have been in decline since 2012 and very few toads are now seen at that pond.
The toads move up a river that flows out of the pond to the east of the road. Where the river flows thorough pipes under the road the toads have to climb up a waterfall and cross the road. Good bio security is especially important at this patrol because of the importance of the river Glaven.
The toads move down Guist Bottom Rd towards a large pond in the rear garden of a house.
The Devil's Punchbowl Toad Patrol in Thetford Forest was set up in 2024. We get high numbers of Common Toads, Smooth Newts and Common Frogs crossing north across Harling Drove, from the forest into the MOD land towards Fowl Mere.

This site is at The Green Wicklewood NR189PX. From Top Road at the junction of High Oak Lane, down Top Road and along The Green to the junction at Wood Lane (by the Wicklewood Auto Centre).
The toads are on the road by the Abbey and at the Mid Norfolk railway and are heading towards several ponds, one of which is in a private garden to the north of Becketswell road.
The Patrol extends along Youngmans Road from the junction with Barnham Broom Road up to Wood Farm vets.
The site is near to Wramplingham Road, the precise location is not shown at the request of the landowner. The toads are travelling to the breeding pond from the surrounding fields and woodlands.
